How much is Semrush in 2025? Pricing plans and price increase
During my journey in the world of digital marketing and online advertising I’ve had the opportunity to try several SEO and SEM tools with different prices, among them Semrush.
While it’s true that we can find some free alternatives like Ubersuggest, these are very limited when we want to do a good job.
The main tools of this type that I’ve tried are Semrush and Ahrefs, and I used to be more of a fan of the latter but this year I changed my mind, why?
Ahrefs has started to greatly limit its plans and charge for the amount of extra reports you consume when, practically, one report is consumed for every click you make.
Semrush price increase
UPDATE JULY 1, 2024: Price increase for Semrush Pro-level subscriptions, which now costs $139.95 per month for all new users and returning users who join or resubscribe after this date.
UPDATE JULY 3, 2023: From this day, Semrush prices increased for all new customers and returning users. Before this date, the Pro plan used to be $119.95/month or $1199.40/year, the Guru plan was priced at $229.95/month or $2299.40/year and the Business plan’s price was $449.95/month or $4499.40/year. The last pricing update before this one was in 2021. Since then, they’ve added a ton of value to their platform, including new tools, updated features, and improved data quality, like their SERP feature tracking, keyword clustering, and a completely revamped Authority Score.
2021 UPDATE: In 2021, Semrush implemented a significant price increase, raising the Pro Plan from $99.95 to $119.95, the Guru Plan from $199.95 to $229.95, and the Business Plan from $399.95 to $449.95. This was one of the biggest jumps in Semrush’s pricing history, reflecting the platform’s expanding features and growing market demand. The annual plans also increased, though they continued to offer around 16% savings compared to monthly billing.

Pro Plan: $99.95/month (monthly) or $83.28/month (yearly).
Guru Plan: $199.95/month (monthly) or $166.62/month (yearly).
Business Plan: $399.95/month (monthly) or $333.28/month (yearly).

- More historical data available (since 2012) and more access to it with smaller plans
- Shows you the information in a more visual way
- Keyword and Backlink Gap and Traffic Analytics options to compare with the competitors
- The small graph that appears next to each keyword where you can clearly see the trend
My opinion about Semrush and its cost
Today, I consider Semrush to be the most profitable SEO and SEM tool.
Its interface not only allows you to view the data very clearly, but also provides much more quantity and quality than most software of this type.
In short, its price is appropriate to what it offers.
